Jan 10: Raw Aura (★★★★)
Port Credit is an old lakeside town in the city of Mississauga. It mixes historical charm with persistently modern developments. Raw Aura is the only Toronto Life rated restaurant of Port Credit, surprising both in that the town should have some other notable eats and moreso that a vegetarian restaurant should gain so much esteem. But a visit dispels any reservations. The beet juice is full in colour and sweetness yet has no added sugar. The falafel is wrapped in a green leaf and shares the spotlight with an explosion of fresh vegetables coated in tzatziki. The salad is skimpily dressed as so the vegetables are centre stage. Raw Aura makes vegetarianism almost bearable.
